THE ''INTERNATIONAL ORANGE'' COLOR OF THE BRIDGE WAS ORIGINALLY USED AS A SEALANT BUT IN 1937 THE LOCALS PERSUADED IRVING MORROW, THE ARCHITECT, TO USE THE VIBRANT ORANGE INSTEAD OF THE STANDARD SILVER OR GRAY.

We made our way over to the Marin Headlands only to find it packed and a ranger diverting traffic from Conzelman Road. We were in lousy moods but not ready to give up. We headed toward Rodeo Lagoon and some how found a dirt road heading up above to Bonita Cove. We hurried out of the car and climbed to the top of the knoll just in time to see the fireworks start. Our sour moods quickly changed to ones of shear delight as we watched the fireworks going off.
